Questions
Answers, including the unflattering ones.
If a question below has a disappointing answer, the answer is still here. A page that only contains good news is a page nobody believes.
What Docket is
- What is Docket?
- Docket is content intelligence and publishing software for marketing teams, agencies and multi-location businesses. It reads a website to build a brand profile, proposes topics scored against that site's own search demand, drafts them, grades every draft against 58 SEO, GEO and AIO checks, publishes to WordPress, and reads Search Console and GA4 back in to decide what to write next.
- Who is Docket for?
- Marketing teams and agencies who publish regularly and need to know what to publish. It is built around hospitality, multi-location brands and agencies running content for several clients at once, because those are the cases where deciding what to write is harder than writing it.
- How is Docket different from an AI writing tool?
- An AI writing tool starts at the draft, which assumes somebody has already decided what to write. Docket starts at that decision and ends after publication: it measures what your site already ranks for, asks assistants what they say about your category, scores topics against that evidence, and then reads back what each published piece actually earned.
- Is Docket an SEO tool?
- Partly. It covers the content half of SEO: what to write, how to structure it, and whether published pages are performing. It is not a rank tracker, a backlink tool, a technical site auditor or a keyword research database, and it does not try to be.
AI visibility and GEO
- What is AI visibility?
- AI visibility is how often an assistant names your business when somebody asks it a question you should be the answer to. When a buyer asks ChatGPT which supplier to use, the assistant names two or three. AI visibility is whether you are among them, where you appear, which sources the assistant read, and how it described you.
- What is GEO, or generative engine optimisation?
- GEO is writing so that an assistant can quote you accurately. Classic SEO is largely about being found and clicked; GEO is about being the passage a model lifts when it composes an answer. In practice: answer the question early and plainly, keep paragraphs self-contained, name entities explicitly rather than using pronouns, and give figures with their source.
- How does Docket measure AI visibility?
- It puts your buyers' real questions to ChatGPT and Gemini on a schedule and reads the answers. Each answer is checked for whether you were named, where in the answer, which sources were cited, which competitors appeared, and what tone was used about you. Perplexity can be added with its own key.
- Does Docket measure Google AI Overviews?
- No. It is the largest answer surface in the market and it is not covered. Docket caps its own platform-coverage grade in the methodology panel because of this rather than rounding up, so the overall assessment reads honestly.
- What is share of voice in AI answers?
- The proportion of answers naming anybody in your category that named you. Docket reports it with a range rather than as a single figure, because asking the same question twice does not produce the same answer, and a number with no spread implies a precision that repeated sampling does not support.
Using it
- Does Docket publish without asking?
- Only if you set it to. Every website has an autonomy setting with three positions: suggest topics only, write drafts but never publish, or write and publish on a schedule. A website nobody has configured sits in the middle one, so silence is never taken as consent to publish.
- What does Docket publish to?
- WordPress, through the REST API using an application password. The body, featured image, FAQ block, structured data, meta title and description and keyword tags all travel with the post.
- How much content does it produce?
- Eighteen topic opportunities a week per website by default, balanced across six search intents. How many of those become articles is up to you, and is bounded by your plan.
- Do I have to use the drafts it writes?
- No. Many teams use the topic queue and the checklist and write themselves, because the value is in knowing what to write and against what standard. The drafts are there when volume matters more than voice.
- What does Docket need to get started?
- A website address. Connecting Google Search Console with read-only access takes about thirty seconds and is what turns the opportunity score from a judgement into a measurement. Everything works without it, and every score says so on its own card rather than hiding the gap.
Quality and trust
- What are the 58 checks?
- 26 classic search checks, 16 generative-engine checks for being quotable by an assistant, and 11 AI Overview checks for being extractable. All are deterministic rules rather than model opinions, so the same article always scores identically.
- Does a low score stop me publishing?
- No. The checklist is advisory. It tells you what is missing and where, and it lets you publish anyway, because a rule that cannot be overridden gets worked around instead of followed.
- Does Docket fact-check what it writes?
- No. The checklist measures structure, not truth. A confident sentence containing a wrong number scores exactly as well as a right one, so a human still has to read the draft before it goes out.
- Will it invent testimonials, reviews or awards?
- No, and it is built specifically not to. Announcement suggestions are written as prompts to confirm rather than as claims. Reviews are discarded unless their source page is among the pages actually retrieved. Where a figure cannot be measured, the product says so rather than estimating.
- Does Docket train AI models on my content?
- No. Your content is used to produce output for you and is sent to model providers only as part of fulfilling that request. Docket does not train any model.
Commercial
- How much does Docket cost?
- Billing is not switched on yet, so the figures on the pricing page are illustrative rather than a commercial commitment, and the page says so. Every route goes to a conversation rather than a checkout. Talk to us and we will be straight about what it would cost you.
- Is there a free trial?
- The free AI visibility check needs no account at all and shows real answers about your own business. Beyond that, get in touch.
- Can I run several brands on one account?
- Yes. Each website is a separate workspace with its own brand rules, competitors, publishing target and queue, isolated in the database rather than by the interface hiding things.
- Can I cancel and take my content with me?
- Your articles are published on your own WordPress site, so they are already yours and stay there. Deleting a website in Docket removes its profile, queue, drafts and connections.
