Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to everyone using Docket, and forms part of the Terms of Service. Where they differ, the Terms govern. It exists because generative tooling makes a specific set of harms cheap, and naming them is more useful than a general instruction to obey the law.

Do not use Docket to produce, publish or distribute:

• Impersonation. Content presented as coming from a business, person, publication or public body you are not authorised to represent.
• Fabricated endorsement. Invented reviews, testimonials, ratings, case studies, awards, certifications or customer counts. This is unlawful advertising in most jurisdictions as well as being against these terms.
• Deceptive claims on regulated subjects. Medical, financial, legal or safety advice presented as authoritative without the qualifications and review that subject requires.
• Scaled content abuse. Bulk generation of near-identical or thin pages whose purpose is to manipulate a search engine rather than to be read. Doorway pages, location pages differing only by a place name, and programmatic pages with no substantive content each fall here.
• Infringement. Content that infringes copyright, trade marks or another party's rights, including reproducing substantial portions of somebody else's work.
• Harassment or hatred. Content attacking an individual or a group, or promoting violence.
• Malware or phishing. Pages designed to deceive a visitor into surrendering credentials, payment details or personal data.
• Adult or illegal material. Sexual content, content sexualising minors, or anything unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours.

Connect only websites, WordPress installations and Google properties that you own or are expressly authorised to manage. Connecting a property you do not control is unauthorised access, and it is your responsibility rather than ours to establish that you have permission.

Do not share credentials for a single account between people who should have their own. Team members can be invited to a workspace with their own sign-in.

Do not:

• Attempt to access another customer's data, or probe, scan or test the security of the service other than by responsibly reporting what you find.
• Circumvent rate limits, quotas or plan restrictions.
• Resell access, or operate a competing service on top of the platform.
• Use automated means to extract data from the product beyond ordinary use.

Reporting a genuine vulnerability in good faith, giving reasonable time to fix it before disclosure, is welcomed rather than penalised. Write to support@docket.ltd.

Docket produces drafts and grades their structure. It does not verify that a statement in a draft is true. A confident sentence containing a wrong figure scores exactly as well as a correct one, so a person has to read the piece before it goes out.

You are the publisher of everything that reaches your website, and you are responsible for its accuracy, legality and originality. This is why the default autonomy setting on every new website writes drafts and publishes nothing.

Where we become aware of a breach we may remove or suspend access to the material, suspend the account, or terminate it, depending on severity and whether it recurs. Where the law requires it we may be obliged to report the matter and to preserve records.

Wherever it is reasonable to do so we will tell you what the problem is and give you the chance to fix it first. Immediate suspension is reserved for cases involving unlawful material, a security risk to others, or clear intent to deceive.

Docket Ltd. may update this policy as the product and the law change. Material changes will be notified to account holders. Continuing to use Docket after a change means accepting the updated policy.
